John passed away Tuesday,  August 6, 2013 at Medical Center Barbour in Eufaula, Alabama after an extended battle with cancer.

Born July 21, 1976 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, John was the son of Earnest Earl Puckett and Patricia Clifton Puckett. John had resided in Eufaula since 1990 coming from Zachary, Louisiana. John was an employee with Carbo Ceramics in Eufaula where he worked as a Utility Operator up until his illness. John adored his wife, Heather and their two daughters, Haley and Allie. He was always ready to "hit the road and go" any time the opportunity would arise.

It is believed that John (and also his brothers) had a greater ability to shop and hunt down a bargain more so than the woman of the Puckett family.

John enjoyed cooking and especially if he was making his homemade peach cobbler, which he made frequently. It is speculated that he regularly prepared his cobbler because he enjoyed hearing everyone brag over his delicious masterpiece.

But one of John's most enjoyed hobbies was gardening and growing tomatoes. Even up until days prior to his passing, he still managed to tend to his tomato plants. And much like the care he had for his plants, so was that of John's life. For anywhere he sewed a seed, up until being called home, he continued to give it the love and care it needed to grow.

John will be remembered for his humble and sweet disposition. He was not only a wonderful husband and father, but he was a man of integrity, compassion, respect and love. His kindness touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. As the community of Eufaula and Barbour County mourn the loss of a great husband, father, brother, son, uncle, co-worker and friend, they all know that Heaven gained wonderful angel. John is preceded in death by his father, Earnest Earl Puckett.
